NC has an official dark sky park, right at Cape Lookout! Go stargazing and see planets appear at sunset. Guided ranger talks are available, or use the Stellarium app to find constellations. An out of this world experience!
Knowing the West at NC Museum of Art
We share a video short of our visit to the NC Museum of Art and their special "Knowing the West" exhibit. We do this, as we joyfully anticipate our own trip out West, coming soon. The exhibit includes SW United States, but we're focusing on South Dakota. Still, it's the Wild West, and we can't wait!

Field of Dreams and More!
Is this heaven? No, it’s Iowa. If you’ve seen the iconic movie, Field of Dreams, you know this line. Part Time Hippies visited the movie set of Field of Dreams and found so much more in Dyersville, IA. We loved the Ghost Players, who emerged from the corn to entertain us. However, Dyersville offers more. This charming town also is home to the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier, an awe-inspiring place of worship, a must-see. While you’re in a spiritual mood, make a trip to Dickeyville, WS to see the grotto at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. This man-made structure took years to build, as its materials were collected all over the world. Then, come back for a bit of nostalgia at the National Farm Toy Museum. Paul loved this because it reminded him of his childhood, growing up on a farm.

Baseball and Father's Day! What a great combination! We had a great time at the Zebulon Devil Dogz during Father's Day. Watch the Dogz bat in a run and their mascot throw water balloons at the audience on a hot summer day. The Carolina Mudcats used to play at this stadium, but now it's the Zebulon Devil Dogz. It was the Five County Stadium but now is called Nomaco Park. They painted the baseball water tower all white, which is why I put our logo on it. Couldn't stand it being empty! Enjoy!

Part Time Hippies start Season 3 with police dogs and a transformer car at the NC State Fairgrounds! Got to Be NC Festival celebrates the culture, products, and character of North Carolina! There were lots of things to sample in the Exhibition Hall, but the most exciting part took place outside! Devin Richardson showed us how his canine officers hunt for narcotics, weapons, and criminals. Afterwards, we witnessed a yellow car transform into a giant Big Bee! So much excitement, and I had to settle in at the Exhibition Building to sample many NC Products. Selling his books, Scott Mason, the Tarheel Traveler, autographed one of his books for me, and we posed for a picture. What an amazing afternoon!

Join us as we tube down the lazy Yadkin River on a hot summer day. We rented our tubes from North Carolina River Riders, who also gave us transportation to and from the Yadkin River. Located in Ronda, NC, this Yadkin Valley gem gifts us with the pleasure of a leisurely float down the river. As you're visiting the Yadkin Valley wine country, make this your stop between vineyards. Our pricing was for the 1 1/2 hour tour, tubes and lifejackets provided. Listen to the banjo-featured bluegrass music in the background, inviting you to give river tubing a try!

We visited the Cheerwine Festival in Salisbury, NC, where we relished delightful food, exciting activities, lively music, and memorable moments. I scored a fantastic bargain with Trey at BonitosHats.com and enjoyed tunes by the Liam Pendergrass Trio, a local band from Salisbury.

We began Season 2 with two shorts. This is the second one. Join the part time hippies, as they pursue a local adventure, Cars on Main, in Kenly, NC. Browse the antique and classic cars from all over the state of North Carolina, conveniently parked in Kenly, NC. Footage is from last year's event but gives you a detailed idea of the cool cars that are there!

Time to relax and de-stress! All you need is flower power! This week we stroll through NC State Raulston Arboretum, while listening to classical music. This video is dedicated to our new grandbaby and her parents. For moms and dads who need a break, and for babies who need calming, this video is for you! Welcome to the world of beautiful flowers and peaceful music. It's for anyone who wants a ~20-minute break from life's stress.
